Newest African Ambassadors Present Letters of Credence at White House

On Wednesday, January 24, 2018, three new African Ambassadors presented their Letters of Credence to President Trump at an Ambassador Credentialing Ceremony in the Oval Office at the White House.

They are:

  • His Excellency Kassa Teklebrhan Gebrehiwet, Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia


  • His Excellency Dawda D. Fadera, Ambassador of the Republic of The Gambia

  • His Excellency Kerfalla Yansane, Ambassador of the Republic of Guinea


The presentation of credentials is a traditional ceremony that marks the formal beginning of an Ambassador’s service in Washington.
